FAQS
Booking: Sign up for the quarterly newsletter and you’ll receive a link (every 3 months) for early flash bookings, advance notice of tattoo travel dates, early access to merch drops, and more!
* My monthly bookings open at noon on the 29th of each month for the following month. There is a 24 hour countdown on my instagram story leading up to it. Once my books are open the booking link here and the other one in my instagram bio will become active.
Flash: I work from flash only. Which means, I do not do custom work. Flash designs are pieces that I’ve drawn. I choose to go this route for many reasons but to put it simply, I enjoy working from art that I am currently creating.
I will occasionally post flash on my IG but all available flash can be viewed in person at your appointment. I like this as it keeps some spontaneity in the process.
I cannot guarantee a design you’ve seen posted to Instagram will still be available should you book an appointment, but please feel free to inquire! I do repeat designs a number of times, but I have to retire them eventually to make room for new content/creative evolution. That said, there are special occasions where I can pull something out of the archives for you! :)
No, you cannot get my work tattooed by someone else. Eventually I'll be in your city.
Pricing: My flash designs typically run between $200-$400, but there are many variables in tattooing, I.e. placement, sizing, color/shading etc. Be prepared for the possibility of your tattoo going over or under.
*Once you book, you will be charged a non-refundable $50 deposit. The deposit is deducted from the total cost of the tattoo.
Payment: I prefer cash for the final payment of the tattoo but card, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal etc. can be used with a 10% fee.

Every tattoo and every body heals a little differently. Which to me is part of the magic in creating a handmade piece of art. That said, if you need a touchup, please do not hesitate to reach out. Touchups are free for the first six months after receiving a Tattoo. You can book a touchup at any point and do not need to wait for my books to reopen,

Sending a healed picture to your artist is not only fun to see but very educational as we are always learning and growing.*For a quality healed picture: healed one month and older, natural lighting/taken in the shade is preferred and taken in a natural body position from about 2 to 3 feet away and centered.

Leave the clear bandage on for 4-5 days. It will most likely fill up with blood and plasma and ink, this is normal, leave the bandage on. It is water resistant so you can shower with it on but do not soak in it.
After 4-5 days, remove the bandage in the shower with warm water and clean the tattoo with mild liquid soap.
Always make sure to wash your hands with antibacterial liquid soap before cleaning or touching your tattoo.
Wash the tattoo 2-3 times a day with mild antibacterial liquid soap from a dispenser. Never use bar soap as it can hold bacteria.
After each washing, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion such as cetaphil, lubriderm, Cera Ve etc.

Make sure to wash your sheets before getting a tattoo to avoid transferring bacteria.
If you have pets, do not allow them in the bed for the first two weeks while your tattoo is healing. Clean your tattoo if it comes into contact with an animal or their bedding, furniture, etc.
Avoid wearing restrictive clothing. Do not let your tattoo stick to clothing or sheets. If this does happen, soak the cloth where it is stuck to the tattoo in warm water and then wash your hands and the tattoo.
Avoid direct sunlight. If you must go in the sun, use a high SPF sunscreen on your tattoo. It is a good rule to apply sunscreen to your tattoos during prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for the life of your tattoo. Do not use a tanning bed for at least one month.
Avoid heavy sweating in or around the area of your tattoo for at least two weeks.
Do not soak in any water or body of water (bathtub, pool, hot-tub, hot spring, river, lake, ocean) for at least a month.
Do not pick at or scratch the tattoo throughout the healing process. This can lead to infection, scarring, or ink fallout.
If you have any other questions or concerns regarding the healing process, please email me at blackmarrowtattoo@gmail.com
